Asa Bertram Lemon was born on September 3, 1889 in Hartford, Ontario. He received his Ph.G. degree from the University of Buffalo in 1913 and his Pharmacy degree from Brooklyn College in 1915. At the University of Buffalo he was appointed an assistant in Materia Medica (Pharmacy) in 1916, instructor from 1917 to 1921, professor from 1921 to 1936, and Dean of the School of Pharmacy from 1936 to 1954.
